THE COLLEGE OF TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE & PHARMACOLOGY CANADA

The College of Traditional Chinese Medicine & Pharmacology, Canada (CTCMPC), the Toronto campus of ( Beijing) Capital University of Medical Sciences,(CUMS) was founded in 1993. Our mission is to provide comprehensive formal education to our students so that they can master all aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine and be fully prepared to meet the challenges in their clinical practices upon graduation. The curriculums for the various programs are specially designed by the Faculty of CUMS for students in Canada and the United States. We have paid special attention to the structural logistics of the course contents, the completeness of the scope they cover, the practicality of their applications in North America, and the effectiveness of our teaching methods. It is our goal to ensure that our students receive professional training in Traditional Chinese Medicine that is on par with formal university standards. With their proficient therapeutic techniques and effective clinical practices, our graduates have earned the confidence of their clients and the commendations of other TCM doctors and Acupuncture Practitioners. Graduates, according to their academic achievements, will be awarded diplomas issued by the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine & Pharmacology, Canada, and by the Beijing Capital University of Medical Sciences.

All the professors and lecturers on our faculty are specially selected by the CUMS. They have all the required qualifications of being graduates of formal medical universities or TCM universities, being active TCM doctors, having more than 7 years of clinical and teaching experience, having good teaching and communication skills., and are dedicated educators.

The Beijing Capital University of Medical Sciences provides resources and facilities for faculty members and graduate students to participate in clinical research and continuing education, so that the teaching standard is always improving. In addition, to facilitate the learning process, the College has been continuously seeking improvements in the teaching environment, expanding on the collection of publications and references on Traditional Chinese Medicine from Universities and medical centers all over the world.

Under the leadership of our President, Dr. James Yuan, and the efforts of our Faculty, we are proud to state that, in the past ten years, we have contributed to the development of many competent Chinese Medicine Doctors in Canada, who are graduates of our College. It´s our sincere wish that all our students would become outstanding practitioners in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, and be assets to our Community.

CAPITAL UNIVERSITY OF MEDICAL SCIENCES

Capital University of Medical Sciences, founded in 1960, is the key municipal university in Beijing and one of the advanced medical institutes in China. Its major objective is to educate high level undergraduates and postgraduates of clinical application, while it also gives consideration to educating medical personnel of various levels concerning preventive medicine, rehabilitation, biomedical engineering, and all disciplines of pre-clinical medicine. Capital University of Medical Sciences consists of a university proper and 11 affiliated hospitals, which cover an area of 715,000 square meters.
